The 80 hectares of beautiful sand forest was a blissful retreat for all of us. The walking trail allowed us to connect with nature and explore the serene surroundings. It was a great way to slow down and spend quality time together.
For dads, it would be great if there were more outdoor play areas for the children.

Packed breakfasts were excellent, enough for lunch too. Lodge meals and breakfasts were very good. Beautiful surroundings, wildlife, and walks available. Planters camp was amazing with private pool, kitchen, and AC rooms. Friendly staff and informative about activities. In the middle of a cool forest. Lovely, spacious, clean thatched 'Honeymoon suite' with amenities. Polite and helpful staff, home-made cookies and coffees available. Memorable visits from a friendly creature.

The bar wall was a lovely display of random paddles. The birdwatching opportunities were great and the sand forest was a rare find. Santa Rosa was a cozy self-catering home. The terrace had an amazing view.
Oh, and let's not forget the mischievous Vervet monkeys who stole the fruit and muffins. What a hilarious surprise!

Mkhulus house is really special, we loved it. the view was breathtaking, and walks around the farm were amazing. the main lodge has a Out of Africa feel to it and the bungalows are comfortable and well equipped. Walking the winding trails allowed us to get up close to the numerous buck and birds. Compliments to the chef and his team for some really top-notch meals too, which we enjoyed on the covered outdoor dining area. A memorable treat was seeing a friendly 'Genet' visit the restaurant each evening for tit-bits. Cons: All was perfect! 😊.

The setting of the lodge in Africa was absolutely beautiful. We loved the stunning views from the resort. The guest rooms may need some updating, but overall our stay was nice and affordable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our time there. We especially enjoyed the safari, even though it took a little while to get to the park from the lodge. The only downside was that the vehicles were a bit crowded, making it difficult to move around freely. However, considering the price, it was a great value. We had a fun stay with our friends and even got to see some amazing sightings of rhinos!

The lodge's African safari style thatched huts are simply stunning, with beautiful views of the indigenous forest. The suite was spacious and the bath set against glass doors overlooking the forest was a unique and peaceful experience. The main lodge had a wonderful open structure with a cool bar area and comfortable seating. The dining area had vibrant décor and a deck with great views of the surrounding area.
We had to pay in cash as they didn't accept credit cards, and the safari itself was unorganized, with a driver change halfway through and unnecessary repeat of the same route. It would have been better to book a safari company separately.

The location of the lodge is great, with beautiful views of a reserve and a lake. Guests have the opportunity to encounter animals while walking or sitting on the terrace. the rooms are lovely and spacious, with big decks for enjoying the surrounding nature. the food served at the lodge is exceptional, with a special bonus of fantastic vegetarian options. the lodge also offers a swimming pool converted from a reservoir, providing a great spot for relaxation.
The lodge had some maintenance issues, such as a tired appearance and a noisy air conditioning system.

The three-course meals were outstanding and the personalized safari guide made our experience truly intimate. Despite a few mosquito issues, the lodge provided mosquito repellent and nets for added comfort. I highly recommend this amazing lodge.

The location was perfect for us to explore the surrounding areas. We went for a walk in the beautiful sand forest and it was so peaceful and calming. Sodwana was a scuba diving paradise, where we had a blast swimming and snorkeling. And the road to Cape Vidal was perfect for spotting game like Kudu, Waterbuck, Reedbuck and Bushbuck. a fantastic vacation filled with adventure!
Only thing missing for us young party-loving folks was some lively entertainment in the evenings. Would have loved to have some fun activities or a night club to keep the party going.

I always stay at this amazing lodge. They once helped me find my forgotten jewelry. It has everything I need: Free Wi-Fi, an electric kettle, cookware, and an outdoor dining area. Can't wait to come back for Christmas!

The second room at Hluhluwe River Lodge was absolutely fantastic! It had a window view of the pool area and the bush beyond. I felt like I was right in the middle of nature, which was so refreshing. As a nature lover, this was a dream come true!
The only thing I didn't quite fancy about the second room was the view of the pool area. But hey, it's just my personal opinion.

We had an amazing stay at the lodge! We got great value for our money, the room was cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful nature. The staff treated us like royalty, making our stay even more special.
The food for breakfast could have been better, could use some improvement.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
